This area covers activities aimed maintaining and improving air quality and reducing noise pollution. It includes:
- Air quality monitoring: Use of tools and methods for measuring and analysing pollutants (e.g., carbon dioxide, nitrogen oxides, fine particulate matter).
- Air pollution reduction: Development or application of technologies and systems that reduce emissions of harmful substances in industrial or urban enviroments.
- Noise protection: Conducting acoustic studies and designing and installing noise reducing solutions (e.g., noise barriers, quiet technologies).
